Rihanna to kickstart MTV Video Music Awards


Along with receiving the Video Vanguard award at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards , superstar singer Rihanna will also be opening the show with a special performance. According to a People Magazine report, the ‘Daimond’ hit-maker wrote on Instagram “Kickin Awf the @MTV #VMAsthis Sunday at 9PM ET/PT!, Thank you for creating this — in honor of the #VMAs2016 era @pandagunda! #RiRiVanguard.” She posted the message with a ‘Canvas Spot’ created by Swedish visual artist Panda Gunda, who has also helmed the VMA promos. ?The show’s executive producer Jesse Ignjatovic earlier told that Rihanna would be performing a medley running through “the biggest tracks of her career.” “I can tell you it’s going to be one of those holy crap VMA moments … She’s not playing. She’s bringing it,” he said. Riri is also nominated in four categories including best female video for “Work” featuring Drake, best male video as a featured act on Calvin Harris’ “This Is What You Came For” and twice in best collaboration for the above mentioned duets.
